I am waiting for our weekly box of organic vegetables and fruits, and I feel like a 3 years old who has been told he is about to get an ice cream!
It is the third week we order the box and since we loved the first two, we are most probably going to subscribe to this service. One can select among different boxes with contents changing every week.
The basic options are simple: a smaller or bigger box of vegetables, a box of fruits, a mixed box of
vegetables and fruits, and a basic box containing Swedish products only. It is not possible to choose what is in the box, that is established according to availability every week, but one has the opportunity to add individual items to the box. This is actually one of the best features of this service, at least for me. I love vegetables, but I find myself buying always the same variety when I do shopping in the store. I normally pick those I am more familiar with, or I get simply trapped in the cycle of boring choices easy to cook. But when my box arrives, I know I have to find a way to use all the vegetables I get. That inspires me to a more creative cuisine, where I can experiment a bit. Also, because most often vegetables are typical Swedish, I tend to invent some good “fusion” between Italian and Swedish culinary traditions. The result might not always be orthodox but it is surely a lot of fun.
The other advantage is obviously the quality. When buying organic fresh products in the store, it is not rare that they are quite old. With the box delivered to your front door, freshness and variety
are guaranteed!

We use Ekolådan that serves our area but I am sure you can easily find a similar service wherever you live.
